HONOR GUARD

 

Honor Guard Mission:

The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Bremen Post 2791 (Tinley Park, IL.) Honor Guard members are fully dedicated to reinforcing the VFW’s missions. Americanism, Patriotism and Military Honors.

Honor Guard Membership:

The Honor Guard is comprised of Veterans from different eras, different ranks and different branches. It is the mission of the VFW that has brought these people together.

Patriotism:

The Honor Guard members are dedicated to demonstrated to and teaching about patriotism. Bremen Post 2791 is asked several times a year to have members of the Honor Guard go to schools and talk to school-aged children about patriotism.

Americanism:

Americanism is a unique mentality that is specific to America and is more specific to America and its ideals. The Honor Guard members participate in many events throughout the year where they are engaging with the community. These events involve parades, presentation of the National Colors at Graduations and sporting events, posting of the National Colors at events such as Memorial Day or Veterans Day.

Military Honors:

Military Honors or Funeral details are the most solemn duties that they perform. This is a time of sadness for the family and loved ones, but it is a great time of honoring the service members for their sacrifices. This is an honor that has been earned by service members through their blood, sweat, tears, and sacrifices to these United States of America.
